Defending the Legal Rights of Washington’s Farmers and Ranchers
Life, liberty, and property are the cornerstones of our constitutional republic. These constitutional rights and freedoms enable the agricultural industry to flourish.
Today’s farmers and ranchers face more regulatory and legal threats than ever before. This endangers their livelihood; diminishes their capacity to produce good local food; and hinders their ability to pass working lands on to the next generation.
Washington Farm Bureau created the Legal Foundation to respond to these challenges, and to promote creative solutions in support of Washington Agriculture.
Our Mission is to defend the rights of Washington’s farmers and ranchers by supporting high-quality research, effective education, and precedent-setting legal action.
Our research objective is to uphold sound science and the rule of law. Our education objective is to make state citizens aware of regulatory risks to agricultural viability. Our legal objective is to ensure effective representation in potentially precedential cases.
We coordinate our research, education and legal efforts to promote creative solutions and success in cases that are critical to maintaining farm and ranch viability in the state.
